The Googlers Emergency Fund is led by current and former Google workers building collective power. It offers individual stipends of up to $3,000 each, and prioritizes workers impacted by the firings after protests over Google’s cloud contract with Israeli government and military, Project Nimbus. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria to qualify.
Applications for stipends are currently closed, and they will reopen when funding is available. Our Funds are mutual aid. As soon as donations come in, money goes back out in the form of cash stipends for workers.
Help more workers build power by inviting someone you know to make a donation, or give what you can in solidarity.
Only applications that meet the eligibility criteria will be funded. Below you will find the details of this criteria for the Googlers Emergency Fund. All submissions follow the same application process.
Applications are accepted on a first-come first-served basis, and they are reviewed for eligibility to decide whether or not to recommend for funding. The Fund will consider the application submission, as well as any information about the applicant publicly available or previously known to members of the Fund. Please note, it may be that not all applications that meet the criteria will be approved.
Workers impacted by the firings and the Tech Worker Committee in collaboration with the Fund’s board and staff developed this acceptance criteria.
In addition to the eligibility criteria above, the following considerations also help determine whether applications are approved or denied:
